Las Vegas, NV (July 25, 2026) – The Nevada Highway Patrol responded to an injury crash Saturday evening on northbound Interstate 15, just south of Washington Avenue, involving two vehicles and two unhoused individuals, according to FOX5.
The crash was reported at 7:23 p.m. and involved a white Ford pickup truck and a black Honda HR-V.
Authorities said a red light violation led to the crash. The Ford pickup left the roadway, entered the shoulder and decorative rock area, and struck two people on the side of the road.
An adult male victim ended up underneath the pickup truck. Las Vegas Fire and Rescue transported him to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. The second victim was not transported and remained on scene.
All lanes in the area were blocked following the crash.
Two people on the side of a freeway became victims of a crash they had no part in causing. When a vehicle leaves the roadway entirely, the questions of fault and compensation look different than a typical two-car collision, and they deserve just as serious an answer.
Pedestrian Accidents in Las Vegas, Nevada
A vehicle that leaves the roadway and strikes someone on the shoulder carries a strong basis for a liability claim, regardless of the victim’s circumstances. Nevada law does not condition a person’s right to recovery on their housing status, employment, or reason for being near the road. What matters is whether the driver’s actions, in this case tied to a reported red light violation, caused the vehicle to leave the travel lanes and strike the victims.
Take 4 actions after being struck by a vehicle that left the roadway:
- See a doctor today, even if injuries seem minor at first. Being struck by a vehicle at any speed can cause internal injuries not visible externally.
- Decline recorded statements to any insurance company before speaking with an attorney.
- Preserve all evidence, such as photos of the scene, medical records, the NHP report number, and contact information for any witnesses.
- Reject any early settlement offer before an attorney calculates the full value of medical care and any lost income.
Nevada follows modified comparative negligence (NRS 41.141). An injured person recovers compensation provided they were less than 51% at fault, and a pedestrian standing on the shoulder, off the roadway, starts from a strong position under this standard. Under Nevada law, you have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim (NRS 11.190). This crash occurred on Saturday, July 25, 2026. The filing deadline is July 25, 2028. Traffic camera footage and physical evidence from the shoulder area will not last that long.

Ace Law Group represents injury victims regardless of their housing status or circumstances at the time of the crash. Our team requests the NHP crash report, any available freeway camera footage, and documentation of the roadway departure, including where the vehicle left the travel lanes and where it came to rest, before that evidence is lost. A former Nevada judge, Hon. Christopher K. Lee (Ret.), reviews these cases directly, applying 12 years on the bench to how the firm evaluates driver fault in road-departure crashes.
Insurance companies sometimes treat unhoused victims as less credible claimants. That assumption has no basis in Nevada law, and our Las Vegas personal injury team builds every case on the same standard: what the evidence shows about how the crash happened, not who the victim is.
We handle personal injury cases on a contingency fee basis: no upfront costs, no fees unless we win.
If you or someone you know was one of the two people struck in this crash, an early legal review protects that right to compensation before the evidence disappears.
