Las Vegas, NV - Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Interstate 15 Near Flamingo Road

Las Vegas, NV (August 16, 2026) – A pedestrian died after being struck by a pickup truck on northbound Interstate 15 just south of Flamingo Road early Sunday morning, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to a report of the crash at 1:27 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026.

All northbound I-15 travel lanes at Russell Road were shut down for the investigation, and northbound I-15 traffic was diverted onto Interstate 215.

The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the pickup truck was arrested on suspicion of impairment.

NHP dispatch was notified at 8:29 a.m. that the pedestrian had died from his injuries at the hospital.

Were You or a Loved One Injured in This Crash?

Nevada law gives a family two years from the date of death, in this case until August 16, 2028, to file a wrongful death claim. Evidence such as the driver’s blood test and the NHP investigative file only gets harder to obtain the longer a family waits.
