Las Vegas Car Accidents – Metro Now Responding to Property Damage Only Collisions

Effective January 1, 2016, Las Vegas Metro is now responding to all car accidents, even ones with only property damage. This means that minor collisions where you believe you may not be injured can still be followed up by a police report in order to properly document your accident.

Importance of Police Reports for Car Accidents
In many minor collisions many people do not feel the effects of the accident until a day or so later. This is common in what is usually referred to as “whiplash” or soft tissue injuries. At the time of an accident you may not even feel any such injuries due to the adrenaline pumping through your body. As such, it is important to ensure that your accident is properly documented by way of a police report in case you do suffer from injuries later that day.

Police Reports – Vital Information
Make sure that when you call the police and they arrive on scene to take the report, that you clearly and concisely describe to them what happened. It is also important to secure any witnesses who may have seen the accident take place. Many times, if your story is different from the other driver’s it is possible that one witness could turn the tide of the report for you and ensure that the other party is cited. After you make your police report we highly recommend calling an Injury Lawyer immediately to assist you with dealing with the insurance companies. Even your own.
