Las Vegas, NV (Mar 14, 2026) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) is currently investigating a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a school bus in the northwest valley.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Whispering Sands Drive and Tenaya Way. At the time of the impact, three students were on board the bus.
Emergency responders treated one juvenile at the scene for minor injuries; no other injuries were reported. All involved drivers remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities, and investigators have confirmed that impairment was not a factor in the crash.
The investigation remains active to determine the precise sequence of events.
Motorists in Nevada owe a heightened duty of care when operating near school transport and in residential zones where children are present. Under NRS 484B.280, a driver’s failure to exercise proper caution can serve as a primary basis for a negligence claim. Because collisions involving school buses often involve complex insurance layers and potential claims against government entities, preserving scene evidence and documenting medical evaluations is essential to establishing fault.
