Las Vegas, NV (Feb 13, 2026) – Two motorists lost their lives in a devastating multi-vehicle accident northwest of the Las Vegas Valley on Friday night.
The Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) confirmed that troopers responded to the scene of a double-fatality crash on northbound US 95 at mile marker 132 in Clark County.
The collision occurred south of Mercury and near the community of Indian Springs.
According to preliminary reports from state troopers, the incident involved two separate vehicles.
Both drivers sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency medical personnel. No other occupants were reported to be in the vehicles at the time of the crash.
While the southbound lanes of US 95 at mile marker 132 remained open following the accident, authorities advised motorists to avoid the northbound corridor for several hours as investigators processed the scene.
The names of the deceased have not yet been released pending notification of next of kin by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of those lost in this tragic incident.
High-speed collisions on rural stretches of Nevada highways like US 95 often involve complex liability issues. In accidents where both drivers are deceased, the investigation relies heavily on physical evidence, such as skid marks, vehicle positioning, and data from “black box” recorders (Event Data Recorders).
Under Nevada’s modified comparative negligence system, it is crucial to determine which party’s actions, whether it be distracted driving, excessive speed, or a lane crossover, led to the fatal impact.
For the families of those killed in such collisions, navigating the legal aftermath is an immense burden. Nevada law allows for wrongful death claims, which enable surviving family members to seek compensation for funeral expenses, the loss of future financial support, and the loss of companionship. These cases often involve intricate negotiations with multiple insurance carriers, making a professional forensic reconstruction of the accident an essential step in protecting the family’s legal rights.
