Las Vegas, NV (Dec 29, 2025) – A pedestrian was injured yesterday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle near Sunset Park.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reported that the collision occurred near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Windmill Lane.
According to investigators, an unhoused individual entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk and was struck by a passing vehicle.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Police confirmed that impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the incident.
Pedestrian accidents are common on busy roads like Eastern Avenue. These incidents often involve complex legal questions about who is at fault. In Nevada, drivers have a “duty of care” to watch for people on the road, even if those people are not in a marked crosswalk.
Under Nevada’s modified comparative negligence laws, an injured person can still collect compensation if they were less than 50% responsible for the accident. This money can help cover medical bills, ambulance fees, and lost wages.
Because insurance companies often blame the pedestrian to avoid paying, it is important to have a professional review of the police report and evidence.
