Las Vegas, NV (Feb 13, 2026) – A man was critically injured early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle in North Las Vegas. According to the North Las Vegas Police Department, the accident happened around 2:49 a.m. at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and Commerce Street.
Officers arriving at the scene found a male pedestrian with life-threatening injuries. He was immediately transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Police stated that they do not suspect the driver was impaired at the time of the collision.
The intersection was closed for several hours while the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) and local police investigated the scene. By 5:30 a.m., two eastbound lanes on Cheyenne Avenue were reopened to traffic.
Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family during this difficult time.
A pedestrian hit and run accident at an intersection like Cheyenne and Commerce or along the Boulder Highway is a complex legal matter that requires immediate investigation. In the Las Vegas Valley, pedestrians are extremely vulnerable, and collisions often result in high-stakes personal injury claims involving catastrophic medical costs and long-term loss of income. Under Nevada law, a driver can be held civilly liable for these damages even if they were not cited for a crime, provided there is evidence of negligence, such as speeding or failing to yield.
Because Clark County intersections are frequently monitored by RTC cameras, securing video evidence is essential to establishing the facts of a case before it is overwritten. Insurance companies often attempt to deny or devalue claims by arguing about the pedestrian’s exact location at the time of impact. Having a legal professional analyze the police report and forensic data ensures that the rights of those injured are preserved and that all potential sources of compensation, including uninsured motorist coverage, are explored.
