Las Vegas, NV (July 12, 2026) – An SUV rolled over after running a red light and colliding with a sedan at Warm Springs Road and Decatur Boulevard, sending three people to the hospital, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The crash occurred at approximately 6:15 p.m. on July 12, 2026.
The SUV was traveling eastbound on Warm Springs Road when it ran a red light and struck the sedan, police said. The impact caused the SUV to roll over in the intersection.
Three occupants of the SUV were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Impairment is not suspected at this time, LVMPD said. Eastbound Warm Springs Road remained closed just east of Decatur Boulevard while the investigation continued.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
A rollover throws everyone inside a vehicle against belts, glass, and each other, and injuries called non-life-threatening can still mean weeks of treatment and missed work. Nevada law protects the people hurt in a crash, including passengers riding in the vehicle that caused it.
Red Light Crashes in Las Vegas, Nevada
Intersection crashes usually come down to right of way, and police have already stated which vehicle ran the light. What many injured people do not realize is that passengers have a claim even when their own driver caused the crash. A passenger can seek compensation from the at-fault driver’s insurance, no matter whose vehicle they were riding in.
If you were hurt in this crash or one like it, a Las Vegas car accident lawyer will typically advise these steps:
- See a doctor today, even if you feel fine. Rollover injuries to the neck, back, and shoulders often surface days later.
- Do not give a recorded statement to any insurance company, including your own driver’s insurer if you were a passenger.
- Preserve evidence, including photos of the vehicles, the intersection, hospital records, and the LVMPD crash report once it is available.
- Do not accept any settlement before an attorney reviews the full extent of your injuries.
If fault is ever disputed, Nevada follows a modified comparative negligence rule (NRS 41.141). You can still recover compensation as long as you were less than 51 percent at fault, and passengers are almost never assigned fault at all.
Under Nevada law, you have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim (NRS 11.190). For a crash on July 12, 2026, that deadline is July 12, 2028.
