Las Vegas, NV (Nov 4, 2025) – A pedestrian was killed in a tragic hit-and-run accident early Tuesday morning on Las Vegas Boulevard near Owens Avenue, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.

The crash occurred just before 2 a.m., when a 2006 Honda Accord, speeding west on Owens Avenue, swerved to avoid stopped traffic. The car crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, along with a power box and light pole.

Both the driver and passenger fled the scene but returned later, where officers detained them. The driver was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.

Emergency responders arrived, but the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s name will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
