Las Vegas, NV (Oct. 13, 2026) – A motorcyclist is in critical condition after a crash on St. Rose Parkway in the south Las Vegas valley on the morning of October 13, according to authorities.
The collision was reported around 4:49 a.m. at St. Rose and Spencer Street, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMPD) said. A motorcycle and vehicle were involved, and the motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.
LVMPD’s Fatal Detail is on scene investigating. No other details were disclosed. The scene of the crash straddles the Henderson city limits, and both LVMPD and Henderson police officers were seen responding. Henderson Police said they were providing LVMPD with assistance.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
Motorcycle Crash in the Las Vegas Valley
Nevada Zero Fatalities, citing the Office of Traffic Safety, reported that 18 of the 73 fatal crashes in Nevada from January 1 to March 31, 2026 involved a motorcyclist. Nevada law (NRS 486.231) requires motorcycle operators and passengers to wear protective headgear. Families and riders can protect a claim with these steps:
- Ask LVMPD or Henderson police which agency holds the crash report, then request the report number.
- Choose one family member to handle hospital updates and insurer calls, so details stay consistent.
- Keep the helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves unrepaired and unwashed, because their damage shows how the crash happened.
- Write down what the rider or any witness remembers about the road, the lighting, and the other vehicle while memories are fresh.
- Save every hospital bill, ambulance invoice, and missed-work record in one folder.
- Report the crash to the rider’s insurer promptly, and decline a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurer.
Legal Next Steps After a Motorcycle Crash in Nevada
A motorcycle injury claim moves through 5 legal steps, in this order:
- Send preservation letters for the evidence that disappears first, including traffic and business camera footage, vehicle data, and the motorcycle itself.
- Gather the investigation’s findings, including any collision reconstruction, once the investigating agency releases them.
- Identify every liable party and insurance policy, such as the other driver’s liability coverage, an employer’s policy if that driver was working, and the rider’s own uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage.
- Document every loss, including medical treatment, lost income, and future care. A family that loses a rider can pursue wrongful death and survival claims (NRS 41.085), with a two-year deadline counted from the date of death.
- File before the deadline. Nevada gives two years from the crash (NRS 11.190), which puts the deadline at October 13, 2028. Which police department leads the investigation does not change that date.
Nevada follows modified comparative negligence, so a rider less than 51% at fault can still recover, with the award reduced by that share (NRS 41.141).
