Pahrump, NV - 61-Year-Old Michael Todd Lewis Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Money Street

Pahrump, NV (July 25, 2026) – A 61-year-old Pahrump man died after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Manse Road and Money Street, according to the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:53 p.m. on the evening of July 25 when a 2015 Nissan Sentra traveling south on Money Street failed to yield at a stop sign, according to troopers. The Nissan entered the path of a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle, which struck the side of the Nissan.

The driver of the Volkswagen, Michael Todd Lewis, 61, of Pahrump, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later died from his injuries. Troopers say Lewis was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Nissan was also taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Lewis’s death marks the 41st fatality this year in the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command’s jurisdiction.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

A family in Pahrump is now facing the kind of loss no one prepares for, and the questions that follow it.

Fatal Car Accidents in Pahrump, Nevada

A failure to yield at a stop sign is a traffic violation that can support a civil claim separate from any citation NHP issues.

  • Establish liability: Nevada law generally places responsibility on a driver who fails to yield the right of way at a stop sign
  • Preserve evidence: NHP’s crash report, 911 dispatch records, and any dashcam or surveillance footage from nearby businesses
  • Examine the intersection: sight lines at Manse Road and Money Street, the stop sign’s visibility, and the speed of both vehicles
  • Assess damages: Nevada follows a modified comparative negligence rule (NRS 41.141), meaning a factor like seat belt use does not bar a claim but may be weighed when damages are calculated

Under Nevada law, wrongful death claims must be filed within two years of the date of death (NRS 41.085). Because the exact date of death has not yet been released, the Lewis family’s filing deadline will be calculated once that date is confirmed.
