Las Vegas, NV - 10-Year-Old Boy Killed, 9-Year-Old Injured in E-Scooter Collision in Northeast Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV (October 23, 2025) – A 10-year-old boy was tragically killed, and a 9-year-old boy was injured on Thursday afternoon after the two children were hit while riding an e-scooter in a northeast Las Vegas mobile home community.

The crash occurred around 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Butternut Lane and Charnut Lane, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Pecos Road, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

Police said the two children were riding a standing e-scooter northbound on Charnut Lane when they entered the intersection without the right-of-way, crossing into the path of a 44-year-old woman driving a pickup truck westbound on Butternut Lane. The driver had just made a left turn from Walnut Road when the crash occurred.

Both children were knocked to the ground, and emergency responders arrived quickly to render aid. The 10-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the 9-year-old boy was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Lt. Cody Fulwiler of LVMPD stressed the importance of safety for both children and adults. “We as adults need to discuss safety with children who ride bikes and e-devices. On the flip side, adults who operate vehicles need to slow down and pay attention,” Fulwiler said.

The driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of impairment. She was not injured in the crash. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the incident.
