Las Vegas, NV (Nov 14, 2025) – A juvenile was hospitalized yesterday evening after being struck by a sedan in an auto-pedestrian crash near Maryland Parkway, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The collision occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Rome Street and Sierra Vista Drive. Police said the child was crossing the roadway when the sedan hit them. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. LVMPD noted that impairment is not suspected. Traffic officers responded to continue the investigation.
Authorities temporarily halted traffic at the intersection and advised motorists to avoid the area.
Our thoughts are with the injured child, and we hope for a full and speedy recovery.
Pedestrian collisions are a growing concern in Las Vegas, especially near busy residential corridors and high-traffic intersections. These crashes often lead to significant injuries due to the lack of protection pedestrians have compared to vehicle occupants. Even at lower speeds, impacts can result in broken bones, head trauma, internal injuries, or long-term mobility issues.
Nevada law allows injured pedestrians to seek compensation for medical bills, lost wages, reduced earning capacity, rehabilitation costs, and pain and suffering. When a crash involves a juvenile, claims may also consider long-term developmental impacts. Because evidence such as surveillance footage, roadway conditions, and witness statements can be time-sensitive, early legal intervention is critical.
The statute of limitations for pedestrian injury claims in Nevada is two years, making timely action essential for preserving legal rights.
