Rise in Insurance Coverage – New Laws

Las Vegas Top Injury Lawyers – Policy Limits Law Change

In 2017, Senate Bill 308 was passed, increasing the minimum policy limits in auto accidents from $15,000/$30,000 to $25,000/$50,000. This law goes in to affect on July 1, 2018.

Does this Law Affect Under-Insured Motorist Coverage as well?
This Nevada senate bill 308 will also affect Uninsured/Under-Insured Motorist Limits as well. The limits for “UM/UIM” will now also rise to $25,000/$50,000 minimum coverage on bodily injury cases.

What does this mean for Car Crash cases in Nevada?
For many decades, the struggle has been getting proper compensation for injured clients when the person who hit them only had $15,000/$30,000 coverage available. This means that one emergency trip to the hospital would barely be covered under these limits, let alone any follow up treatment, surgical procedures, and pain and suffering that would be needed for our injured clients.

The increase in minimum coverage does give injured clients more breathing room and more freedom to be able to get the medical help they need.
