Las Vegas, NV - Three-Vehicle Crash Involving Automated Waymo Blocks Lanes on Decatur Boulevard

Las Vegas, NV (Oct. 13, 2026) – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a three-vehicle crash involving an automated vehicle near South Decatur Boulevard and Nevso Drive. Police said officers were called to the scene around 5:14 p.m. on October 13.

Police confirmed that three vehicles were involved and that one of them was automated. Injury information has not been released. The crash blocked multiple lanes that evening, according to police.

Waymo said its vehicle was involved in a secondary crash while turning left from Nevso Drive onto South Decatur Boulevard. According to the company, two drivers collided first, and the nearby Waymo was then hit on its front side. Waymo said no riders were inside its vehicle.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

Steps to Take After a Multi-Vehicle Collision in Las Vegas, NV

Nevada recorded 381 traffic deaths in 2025, and 239 of them happened in Clark County, according to preliminary figures from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department named failure to yield the right of way, failure to maintain a lane, and speeding as the top collision factors of 2025.

Drivers in a multi-vehicle crash protect their health and their claim with 6 steps:

  • Get a medical evaluation within 72 hours, even without pain. Whiplash, concussion, and internal injuries often surface days later.
  • Request the report number from the responding officer. Insurers and attorneys use it to pull the official crash report.
  • Photograph every vehicle, its final position, the lane markings, and the traffic signals before tow trucks arrive.
  • Write down the automated vehicle’s company name and the fleet number on its body. Those details identify the operator and its insurer.
  • Collect names and phone numbers from witnesses, such as drivers stopped nearby and pedestrians at the corner.
  • Report the crash to your own insurer promptly, and decline recorded statements to any other insurer until you get advice.
