Las Vegas, NV (April 10, 2026) – A 43-year-old man is in critical condition after a BMW crashed into an apartment building, and a chain of collisions left the pedestrian seriously injured on Twain Avenue in the central Las Vegas valley early Friday morning.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash occurred just after 5 a.m. at Twain Avenue and Kolendo Court, near Decatur Boulevard. Police said the BMW driver lost control and drove off-road into the complex, striking a Chevrolet Tahoe and an HHR. When the Tahoe moved, it struck a nearby pedestrian at the northeast corner of the intersection.
Arriving officers found the pedestrian on the sidewalk suffering from what appeared to be moderate injuries to his arms and face. He was transported to University Medical Center. While treating his condition, medical crews determined his injuries were life-threatening.
The driver of the BMW ran eastbound from the scene and remains unidentified. The passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Las Vegas, remained at the scene and claimed minor injuries. Police told FOX5 that the driver had been involved in an argument with the passenger before the crash. Personal Injury Accidents in Las Vegas, NV

When a driver flees after causing serious injuries, victims face a situation that feels impossible, but Nevada law provides multiple paths to compensation even when the at-fault driver has not yet been identified.
What to do right now:
What if the driver is never identified?
Nevada requires drivers to carry uninsured motorist coverage. Even in a hit-and-run where the driver remains unidentified, a claim may still be available under the victim’s own policy. An attorney can identify every available source of compensation, including those most victims never know exist.
Nevada’s deadline: You have two years from the date of the crash to file a personal injury claim (NRS 11.190). In hit-and-run cases, acting early is critical – evidence disappears, and the window to identify the driver narrows quickly.
