Las Vegas, NV – 40-Year-Old Man Dies After Semi-Truck Rolls Over Him at Loading Bay

Man Dies After Semi-Truck Rolls Over Him at Loading Bay on South Eastern Avenue

Las Vegas, NV (March 06, 2026) – loading bay on South Eastern Avenue in the southeast Las Vegas valley became the scene of a fatal incident Monday afternoon when a semi-truck rolled over a man who had crawled beneath a parked trailer.

According to a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department press release, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. in the 7200 block of South Eastern Avenue near Warm Springs. A 40-year-old man had crawled under a trailer that was parked in a loading bay on the west side of a business. The driver of the semi, a 57-year-old man, exited the tractor and prepared the trailer to move. The driver then re-entered the tractor and drove forward. The tires rolled over the pedestrian.

Medical personnel arrived and determined the man died at the scene. A fatal number will not be assigned until the case is reviewed at the state and federal levels, police said.

The case remains under investigation by Las Vegas police.

This incident raises legal questions that go beyond the initial investigation. Here is what the family should know.

Fatal Commercial Vehicle Incidents in Las Vegas – What Families Should Know

When someone is killed in an incident involving a commercial vehicle at a business loading bay, liability may extend beyond the driver alone. The trucking company, the business operating the loading bay, and any party responsible for workplace safety compliance may all face scrutiny under Nevada and federal commercial vehicle regulations.

What the state and federal review means for your family: Police confirmed this case will not receive a fatal number until reviewed at the state and federal levels – meaning the investigation is not yet complete. An independent legal investigation can run alongside the official process, preserving evidence and identifying every potential avenue of accountability before it closes.

What a wrongful death claim can cover: Under Nevada’s wrongful death statute (NRS 41.085), surviving family members may pursue compensation for funeral expenses, loss of financial support, and loss of companionship. Evidence in commercial vehicle cases – driver logs, vehicle data, loading bay safety records – must be preserved early or it disappears.

Nevada’s deadline: Wrongful death claims must be filed within two years of the date of death (NRS 41.085).
