Hit-and-Run Accidents in Las Vegas
Hit-and-run accidents are an ongoing problem across Las Vegas, contributing to hundreds of injury and property-damage cases each year. According to LVMPD statistics, driver negligence and failure to remain at the scene remain leading causes of unresolved traffic incidents.
Under Nevada law, leaving the scene of an accident involving injury or property damage is a criminal offense. Victims of hit-and-run crashes may still pursue compensation through uninsured motorist coverage or a personal injury claim once the at-fault party is identified.
In Nevada, the statute of limitations for personal injury claims is two years from the date of the incident. Failing to file within this period may result in losing the right to recover damages.
