Las Vegas, NV – Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck by Vehicle at Lamb Boulevard and Tonopah Avenue

Las Vegas, NV (May 1, 2026) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle at Lamb Boulevard and Tonopah Avenue in Las Vegas on Friday night.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened at Lamb Boulevard and Tonopah Avenue shortly before 8:30. The driver of a vehicle was traveling on Lamb when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian died at the scene, according to police.

Police say the pedestrian was walking outside of a marked crosswalk. The driver stayed on scene, and police do not suspect speed or impairment to be factors.

The investigation is ongoing.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Las Vegas, NV

When a pedestrian is killed on a Las Vegas road, the location of the crossing does not automatically determine fault. Nevada follows a modified comparative fault standard (NRS 41.141) – meaning the family may still recover compensation even if the pedestrian bore some responsibility, provided their loved one was less than 51% at fault.

What the family should do right now:

  • Contact an attorney before the investigation closes – nighttime crash evidence, including surveillance footage and witness accounts, disappears quickly
  • Do not speak to the driver’s insurance company without legal representation
  • Do not sign any documents or accept any settlement before consulting an attorney

Nevada’s deadline: Wrongful death claims must be filed within two years of the date of death (NRS 41.085).
