Las Vegas, NV (April 29, 2026) – A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and North Torrey Pines Drive Tuesday night, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 9:34 p.m. The pedestrian was crossing Lake Mead Boulevard from north to south on the west side of the intersection, inside a marked crosswalk with the walk signal active.
A white 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling southbound on Torrey Pines Drive in the rightmost travel lane when the driver failed to yield the right of way, striking the pedestrian and knocking her to the ground. The left tires of the truck ran over her before the driver fled the scene without providing any identifying information.
Surveillance video and evidence at the scene aided the investigation. A driver was subsequently arrested in connection with the collision.
A driver hit you in a crosswalk, with the walk signal in your favor, and fled the scene. That is not just negligence. That is a serious crime under Nevada law, and you have every right to hold them accountable.
Nevada law gives injured pedestrians the right to pursue full compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and long-term care. But evidence fades fast, insurance companies move faster, and Nevada’s statute of limitations means your window to act is limited.
