Las Vegas, NV - 46-Years-Old Man Dies After Jeep Strikes Him in Crosswalk

Las Vegas, NV (Sept. 30, 2026) – A 46-year-old Las Vegas man died following a collision on the Strip. A 2017 Jeep Compass struck him Tuesday morning at a marked crosswalk.

The collision happened at South Las Vegas Boulevard and Four Seasons Drive. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers reported the crash at approximately 7:47 a.m. Tuesday, September 29.

Police said the Jeep traveled westbound on Four Seasons Drive before turning left. The driver was entering Las Vegas Boulevard as the pedestrian crossed east to west. According to investigators, the driver failed to yield and struck the man. The impact threw him onto the roadway.

The pedestrian was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. Authorities initially described his injuries as moderate. The Clark County Coroner’s Office confirmed he died Wednesday, September 30.

The driver, a 64-year-old Las Vegas woman, remained at the scene. Police said she was uninjured and showed no signs of impairment.

Authorities recorded the death as LVMPD’s 90th traffic-related fatality of 2026. The collision remains under investigation.

We extend our condolences to the man’s family and loved ones.

Legal Options After a Fatal Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident

Losing someone in a pedestrian collision leaves families facing difficult legal and financial questions. Nevada law allows wrongful death claims when another party’s negligence causes death. A driver does not need to be impaired for potential civil liability. However, a claim requires evidence connecting the negligent conduct to the fatal injuries.

Under NRS 41.085, qualifying heirs and the estate’s personal representative may pursue claims. Heirs may seek compensation for grief, lost financial support, and lost companionship. The estate may recover qualifying medical expenses and funeral costs. Each claim addresses different losses, and available compensation depends on supporting evidence.

Establishing what happened requires careful investigation, not assumptions based on a news report. At Ace Law Group, our pedestrian accident attorneys review crash reports and interview witnesses. We seek available surveillance and dashcam footage to help establish how collisions occurred. When necessary, we consult accident reconstruction experts to evaluate the evidence.

Before a consultation, gather available medical bills, funeral invoices, and insurance correspondence. Bring the police report number and any information you already have. You do not need every document before seeking legal guidance. Ask which additional records should be requested and preserved.

Nevada generally imposes a two-year filing deadline for wrongful death lawsuits. Exceptions can affect the applicable deadline, so do not assume time remains. Have an attorney review your circumstances, confirm filing requirements, and explain your next steps.
