Las Vegas, NV – Reported Fireworks Incident at EDC Las Vegas Raises Safety Concerns

Las Vegas, NV (May 15-17, 2026) – Attendee reports and videos circulating online appear to show a firework launching into the audience near the Cosmic Meadow stage during Night One of Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas. Commenters also described a similar incident near Kinetic Field. EDC Las Vegas 2026 took place from Friday, May 15, through Sunday, May 17, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, located at 7000 N. Las Vegas Blvd.

According to attendee posts on Reddit, one user claimed a firework launched into the audience near Cosmic Meadow. Another commenter reported that a similar situation occurred at Kinetic Field during a transition between sets. A third user, who said they were positioned on the grass at Cosmic Meadow, reported that they did not see medics rush to the area and did not notice panic after the stray firework reportedly landed in the crowd.

As of Monday afternoon, Ace Law Group has not identified any official statements or mainstream news coverage confirming injuries connected to the alleged incident. However, multiple videos appearing to show fireworks launching toward crowd areas have circulated across Reddit, TikTok, and EDM related social media pages. For that reason, Ace Law Group is continuing to monitor the situation while treating injury reports as unconfirmed at this time.

When fireworks or pyrotechnics are used near dense crowds, even a brief malfunction can cause burns, eye injuries, hearing damage, panic-related injuries, or other harm. If someone was hurt at EDC or witnessed the alleged incident, it is important to save photos, videos, medical records, witness information, and any communications with event staff.

Festival Fireworks Accidents in Las Vegas, Nevada

Large festivals have a responsibility to take reasonable steps to protect attendees from preventable hazards. EDC’s own health and wellness guidance tells attendees to seek help from event staff, medical practitioners, first aid tents, Ground Control, or roaming Health & Safety officers when medical issues arise.

In a fireworks injury case, attorneys may investigate whether the pyrotechnic setup was properly planned, whether fireworks were safely positioned away from crowd areas, whether wind or other conditions affected the display, and whether staff responded appropriately once the alleged malfunction occurred. Evidence may include event footage, incident reports, vendor contracts, safety plans, crowd-control procedures, emergency-response logs, and witness statements.

Nevada also follows a modified comparative negligence rule. Under NRS 41.141, an injured person is not barred from recovery as long as their negligence was not greater than the negligence or gross negligence of the parties they are seeking recovery from. This means a claim may still be possible even if the defense argues that the injured person was partly responsible, as long as the injured person was not more at fault than the responsible party or parties.

Nevada law also gives injured people a limited amount of time to act. Under NRS 11.190(4)(e), an action to recover damages for injuries or death caused by another person’s wrongful act or neglect generally must be filed within two years.
