Laughlin, NV - Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash in West Casino Drive

Laughlin, NV (Jan 01, 2026) – A woman died Thursday night after being struck by two different vehicles on West Casino Drive.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 800 block of West Casino Drive around 9:07 p.m. Investigators determined the pedestrian was walking in a dark area of the two-lane road with no street lighting.

An unknown vehicle struck the woman and fled the scene without stopping.

Shortly after, a 2014 Toyota Camry traveling on the same road struck the injured woman again. The driver of the Camry stopped immediately, called 911, and cooperated with the police.

Emergency medical crews pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed the driver of the Camry showed no signs of impairment.

Police are still searching for the first driver involved in the initial hit-and-run. The investigation is ongoing.

Las Vegas Pedestrian Accidents

Pedestrian accidents on dark or unlit roads present significant legal challenges. In Nevada, all drivers have a legal duty to remain at the scene of a crash that results in injury or death. Fleeing the scene is a serious crime, but it also complicates the process for families seeking justice through a wrongful death claim.

Even when a pedestrian is walking in a roadway without lighting, drivers must exercise “due care” to avoid a collision. In cases involving two separate impacts, liability may be split between multiple parties. Nevada’s modified comparative negligence laws allow for the recovery of damages as long as the victim’s fault does not exceed 50%. For families dealing with a fatal accident, compensation can help cover funeral costs, medical bills, and the loss of financial support.
