These crashes often occur when drivers fail to yield, speed, or flee the scene to avoid criminal responsibility.
Under Nevada law, leaving the scene of a crash that causes injury or death is a felony offense. Surviving families of hit-and-run victims have the right to file a wrongful death claim seeking compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, lost financial support, and emotional distress.
Nevada’s two-year statute of limitations applies to wrongful death claims, so it’s crucial for families to seek legal counsel quickly. Attorneys can help gather evidence such as surveillance footage, witness statements, and police records to establish liability and strengthen the case.
