Pedestrian Accidents in Las Vegas: Legal Rights for Victims

Pedestrian accidents in Las Vegas often lead to life-changing injuries or fatalities, especially in busy intersections like Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue. Victims and their families may be entitled to significant compensation for medical expenses, funeral costs, pain and suffering, and lost income resulting from a pedestrian accident.

If the accident was caused by driver negligence, such as speeding, distracted driving, or failure to yield, victims or their families can pursue a wrongful death claim. In Nevada, the statute of limitations for filing a personal injury or wrongful death claim is two years from the date of the incident. Taking immediate action helps preserve key evidence, such as police reports, witness statements, and traffic surveillance footage, which are essential for building a strong case.

In cases of pedestrian fatalities, Nevada law also allows the possibility of seeking punitive damages in addition to compensation for economic losses, particularly if the at-fault driver was found to be reckless or under the influence.

Prompt legal action not only strengthens your case but also helps ensure that the responsible party is held accountable for their actions.
