Las Vegas, NV - 45-Years-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash at Tropicana Ave and Mountain Vista St

Las Vegas, NV (Nov 30, 2025) – A tragic crash claimed the life of a man in a wheelchair early Sunday morning on West Flamingo Road, west of South El Capitan Way, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

The collision occurred around 5:22 a.m. when a 2024 Kia Forte traveling eastbound on Flamingo Road struck a male pedestrian, estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old, who was crossing the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk.

Police said the front left side of the Kia hit the pedestrian, ejecting him from the wheelchair and onto the road. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to UMC Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead despite life-saving efforts.

The driver remained at the scene, showed no signs of impairment, and cooperated fully with investigators.

This marks the 148th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction in 2025. The Collision Investigation Section continues to review the incident.

Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in Las Vegas, NV

Pedestrian fatalities in Las Vegas remain a critical public safety concern, especially along busy, high-traffic corridors like Flamingo Road. The combination of high vehicle density and drivers failing to yield their right-of-way dramatically increases the risk of a deadly collision. These crashes tragically involve profound negligence, often resulting in devastating loss for the victim’s family.

Under Nevada law, families who lose loved ones in pedestrian crashes may pursue Wrongful Death Claims for compensation. This financial recovery covers medical expenses, funeral costs, lost income, and emotional damages. Because Nevada enforces a strict two-year statute of limitations on these claims, you must act quickly to preserve crucial evidence, including dashcam footage, traffic camera recordings, and witness statements. A skilled attorney secures all necessary evidence, ensuring your investigation is thorough and your loved one’s rights are fully protected.
